First, the new PS-02's do support 128 mb cards. Zoom says:
Quote:
Current PS-02, that we are manufacturing and shipping, can support 128 MB SmartMedia. However, it depends on the distributor when this version will be available in your market. You can find sticker as like "128 MB USABLE" on the carton box (Serial No. 15451 or later in US), if it is available. Please note that it is impossible to update previous version to current one.

Second, Armin says:
It's no problem to record (and playback) with a 128MB card with any PS02.
The old ones had a problem after:
A) recording more the half of the maximum length
and
B) record another track

If you can do A) and B) your unit supports 128MB.

Many old units can do A) but failed with B)

If you have an old one buy only 64MB cards, anything else is a waste of money.

Third, Dale adds:
Several times, however, the 128 meg card has gotten corrupted somehow. I can play back, anything already recorded, but cannot record any more audio. Plenty of time left, but when I hit "record" the word "ERROR" comes on the screen. Each time this has happened, I have copied the original operating system back onto the card (computer -> card reader -> PS-02) and it works again.
