How to convert songs to MP3 format
There are several freeware and shareware programs that will convert your .wav files to .mp3 files. Also, most sound editing and multitracking software includes this capability. Popular choices include Goldwave ( http://goldwave.com ) and CDex ( http://www.cdex.n3.net )

The most common bit rate is 128; higher numbers result in better sound quality but larger file size.

You should only convert to mp3 after you are done mixing the song; it should be the very last step in the process.

Another free option is Audacity. It has an export to 128 bit rate mp3 option.
Note: It’s a rather elaborate tool that some folks use for mixing individually exported tracks.

If you put the song in your pc music library then right click it you'll see an option "convert file format" and you can convert them that way.

Riff, that only works if you have the right software installed.

You sure do, I guess my point was that you already have to have an WAV-MP3 converter for that option to be available.
