Loving my new Gap pre 73 mic preamp. I am currently feeling like writing blues songs. Hope you like. Same was as always, just brought up a drum beat and wrote it and recorded it together.

All written and recorded today. Drums are Addictive drums.

Everything else but the strings are through the Gap. Strings are sample tank.

You sure are crankin' em out, forgive me if I missed one. This one sounds a bit more primitive and airy than your usual fare, drums are a bit stuttery. I like the new picture, that one of you in the white jacket was getting old.

Can’t keep up with you Jeff.

Great sound all round - although as I listened the drums seemed kind of off-beat in places? Is it just me?

A nice angle on the blues, more lyrical than the usual. Vocals sound clean and clear as does that guitar.

Bravo

Pete

PS How do you find the time to do all these songs?

It was a Jazz beat that i chose, so it's just some strange timing in them. I never noticed it being off time, just spiced up a bit with back beats and such. Does it distract in some way? Maybe I could change it to another beat if need be.

As solid as ever. Very nice guitar work and like Pete I am amazed you have the time to crank out these.

Yes, the drums are a little odd but they work.

Cheers

Dick

Love bluesy stuff like this Jeff, music like this is a big, big reason I started playing guitar (along with Ace Frehley... :) )...I have to agree with the drum comments, I think the extra backbeat thing is a little distracting. I totally "get" what you're doing with 'em though. Programming drums can be a painstaking event, it's like I know what I wanna hear the drummer do (& would be really easy if I had a drummer/kit), but programming 'em is another story altogether....You may be able to leave 'em in there, but nudge the midi hit a few milliseconds either way, & it may smooth it out a little......

That's really the only nit I have on this one, other than I'm jealous because you keep putting songs out at an amazing pace!!!

Cool guitar tones, & smooth vocals (as usual)....nice song Jeff!!!!! I don't see how you keep churnin' 'em out, but you do!!!!! Keep it up!!!!

Not easy to find the time. I play gigs at night most of the time, so I have my days but I can usually knock them out in 5 or 6 hours. Thanks for the comments guys.

LOVE that Left channel acoustic guitar; that's what I'm talkin' about

Great groove, very cool guitar licks, organ is spot on.....the only thing you need is a gravel-y Tom Waits voice.

This songs churns soooooooo slowly and just right.

As far a writing goes, this one may be your most solid offering yet, in my opinion. Music and recording are top notch as par.

Big open acoustic 2nd guitar. Mixed well. Drums work, and that is a bad ass beat, but it feels like it took you a verse to find the 'groove'. :) Like in the first half, it chops up some, like a march, but by the mid to end you've got it. Bass comes in too quick? Maybe let the drums & guitar start. It's like the flow is backwards at the start. I dunno, just my ears. :)

Good songwriting, and I do dig that beat and how you used it. Very cool. :)

Nice.
Thanks!
Matty

Those Addictive Drums are nice. Do you use presets of program your own patterns?

One or two spots seem to go "off beat" but that can be a good thing in making for a more "live band" sound, which is really what you want to capture.

I thought the drums sounded out sometimes too.....Great stuff again...personally I found the hard panned acoustic quite distracting I would have preferred it more centered or even better double tracked and one hard left and one hard right but thats probs just a personal taste thing

Good stuff...seriously though if you haven't heard Otis Taylor (which you probs have) check him out

Super good broken groove, I love it.

Not everybody will like it though, if you play this in a open-mic it is risky. I thought at first there was a glitch at the very beguining, no no no glitch anywhere.

Like I said I love the limpy beat cause it makes people unconfortable. It's like at the end of the song he walks more straight. Very well done :applause:

I would appreciate to be able to read the lyrics somewhere though.
