James - yes, there was a lot going on here! It did take a couple of years but it was very sporadic. I'm pleased you enjoyed it as I'm not sure I'll ever do it again :) Thanks for the listen and comments.

Matty - thanks for the comments. I had a clear idea about how it wanted to work but it just took a long time to sort it all out. I had some great lyrics to work with and Graeme's vocals on the first part were a perfect starting point.

Cheers

Dick

Listening.......that first bit reminded me of Brian Wilson's "Smile" period......in fact, a lot of this has a Brian Wilson feel....brass, weird vocals, generally cool stuff.........Good God this is like a trip through American pop culture ("we're not in Kansas anymore :) )...................now Pink Floyd/DickL....................what a great mix!..............cool harmonies.......how many tracks are on this??........................synths=perfect...............it's over, and I was just getting into it   ....that was wonderful. Epic.

PS: Did I hear a very short snippet of "Good Vibrations" in there?

Well I thought it was crap, especially the 1:27 section.

I feel like Geoff Astle. No! Worse! Peter Bonetti.

Dick, you are a veritable Charlton. I shall leave the choice to you, squire...

In high definition it almost sounds like a movie soundtrack. At one point I thought Andrew Lloyd Webber and then again, maybe not. The section from about the 4.00 mark is really outstanding, very poignant and moving. Certainly worthy of a finale with the fat lady.

A genuine rock opera if ever there was, or should i say classic.
This must have been a massive amount of work but it did pay off; you created a masterpiece.
Now comes an even bigger challenge, playing this live in front of an audience...

Strange the fact that you mentioned Jilliamsac, I was thinking today that we have no news from him.

Nicely done and impressive .
You have combined a lot of different genres together, music-hall,disco etc.

And now? Working on another big project?

A thank you bump :)

Pete : thanks, Lloyd Webber? I wouldn't mind having his success and money..... Well the fat lady has finally sung and that's Celebrity Torture over with, thanks again :)

Henky : thanks for the listen and comments. I think we gave up the idea of playing it live a while back although at one point I had a director interested and I would have used a combination of backing tracks, keyboards, drums bass and guitar had he wanted to take it further and rewritten the tracks for live performance.

Guy: and what now? I'm still working on songs for the Queen Caroline project and now I have Graeme on-board writing his first songs for 4 years so that will be interesting. That one could run and run. Thanks for the listen and comments. Jim (Jilliamisaac) is still around but has his own projects and work to distract him from the internet but I'm sure he'll be pleased to know he's remembered :)

Cheers

Dick

What a production. Mind blowing. I can't imagine the contrast in this and in my own lazy way of writing and recording. It would take me months to do something like this, I wonder if I would be capable of keeping myself at a solid vision taking such a long time. man, I wish I could do something like this. Still listening, it's just massive, so cool.

Is 24 responses the magic 'no response from author except via email' number?
Anyway, while I did already review this off the board, I'll give 'er another listen within the next few...(I really can't while at work).

No, I just try not to bring the tune back to the top if I have another one on the way so I respond by PM! That should tell you that I don't have another song ready for a while (unless I suddenly get inspiration) :)

Jeff - thanks :) I can't do what you do either so I guess we're even! Thanks for the listen and comments.

Cheers

Dick

How about 27? :P
A fitting end to what seems something you just started recently. Where do the time go?

Wow Dick, this is amazing. Sounds like a movie soundtrack.

You and your fellow musicians have produced something wonderful. I can't add any more that has not already been said.

I am not worthy.........barb
