Dudes;

It's always enjoyable when you spend a couple hours of yer Saturday fixing up a drum sequence, getting it relatively the way you want it, play guitar with it a few 1000 times, really catch the vibe on it, bust out yer keys to possibly add a grand piano part, etc. Ideas flowing. Buttloads of fun. :drum: :guitar: :music:

Then, you move your coffee cup to make room for yer keys(to record). To make a safe spot for yer coffee cup, you grab yer ZOOM R8 and move it a tad. I use a spill proof travel mug, but ya can never be to careful, right? 8)

When you grab yer ZOOM R8, you depress the SD card, popping it out, losing that sequence. :nono:

Sometimes, I'm a badmuthafucka.
Other times, I'm a madmuthafucka.

Quite aware there is a cover for the SD slot. :x

Shit-happens.

Welcome to the wonderful world of home recording Matty......I've had stuff like that happen to me before, & it sucks. But, look on the bright side, if you do get the new sequence/groove sounding close to what you had, you've made progress, because you did it trying to re-create the old one.......just my :2cents: , but it's always a learning experience, for me anyway......

Keep at it man!!!!!

SD Card = Stupid and Dumb Card? :type:

I can relate, been beta testing Mixcraft 6 for about three months now and have had numerous crashes/freezes. Lost a BUNCH of work and had to redo. But the final public beta is now released and I've qualified for an activation code. :D

Yea...that's pretty much how most say it in CA.! :D I still sting from years ago switching from one computer to another and deleting a bunch of master mix files. :x

...you then shout, "drum sequence, take two from the top boys" and continue. Let's face it, songwriting and recording is about 10% inspiration, 40% "craft"/work, and 50% coffee.

Some may elect to replace coffee with other adult beverages but I'm a coffee guy as well. ;)

All things being equal you probably did the right thing. You've still got your Zoom. I've found that liquids and electronic equipment are incompatible. On the other hand, you would not have had this problem if the Zoom came with a proper cup holder.

Correction Pete, some of the older Zooms had them like the HD8/16 and MRS16, but as usual Zoom discontinued a good thing.
It was cool because you'd hit the button and they'd pop right out.

Good to hear you're on track again Matty.

Sounds amazing Lee, I was initially disappointed with with my AW1600 because it had no cup holder, but you can actually balance a frothy cappuccino on the CD shelf

The ultimate recorder must be one with a built-in coffee maker!

Cup holder is the reason why I preferred computer based DAWS for years. Then Apple removed it, replacing with a thin slotted hole. I wonder why.

There's no real good reason for designers NOT to add a cup holder to everything. I've long thought it would be a terrific addition to toilets. And a magazine rack. A good cup of coffee & a copy of Pop Mech make for a smooth movement. :D No doubt it would be an excellent addition to any musical movement. :P

You sometimes come back stronger after losing everything. Then there are those times when you just can't get it like you had it. I had a project just disappear on me the other day. No explaination. I don't think I did anything wrong. It was just gone. I couldn't even blame it on coffee. I just shut it down for the day.

I for one would take that as a blatant personal attack dude.

You know Lee, it's all about the usual Apple Attitude 'we know better than you what you need'.
I still have to figure out how a slotted hole can replace the good cup holder I had on my G4 Powermac.
