Once again time is running against us... TIme force me to pry the forum rules a bit.
The rapture is coming soon and better be advise before it comes!

I beseech talks about the rapture, I should say 'raptures' because there will be at least 2 different ones!

Lou is flying with his raptors and he doesn't know if they are going forward or backwards
as the bass goes backwards and the guitar goes back and forth.

Driving way too far and fast means going way too far and fast, haven't you notice time always go faster as you get older?
Everyone feels that cause it goes faster, think of thechnologie development in the last 40 years compare to the last 80 years and so on, compare to the millions of years needed to get rid of the dinosaures!!! (There is still a few around, I know a few of them) Time is xxxing itself in speed!

I used reverse guitar and bass at times, just because I love to do that, kinda gives me the power to reverse time and redo things, cause I got to do it again and again and I then get what I wanted before! Did you see the movie Paris at Midnight?

That was all done in my mrs1608 in 2009, last decade in fact!

Will I live another decade on Earth?

You think I'm silly? I woukd not be silly with you, but maybe to my boss or a 3 year old son.
They don't need to know I think that way as I am walking halfway the long and winding road.

Cool sounds and great upbeat vibe. Nice reverb on your vocals....and that reverse guitar and bass is WILD!!

Hi Lou...another totally original piece done in your own inimitable style!.......I like it! Well balanced instruments compliment a good mix....lovin' the guitar rhythm in the later half of the track...good drum sounds...interesting vocals...the places where you have brought the song to an abrupt halt, work well for me, good timing imho....the whole project, nicely done in general....''the rapture'= :alien: ......ssbob

If David Bowie could go back in time and do a follow up to Ziggy Stardust, I think he'd sound something like this

You certainly have brought a fresh sound to this humble forum...and I agree with Marc; that reverse stuff is great! One question; how did you master this? It has an overall sound/atmosphere that I don't recognize (which is good  )

The lyrics are open to interpretation, right?

Time speeds up as you age, but you drive slower. Rapture? You're kidding, right? Don't get me started on that.

I don't know what this reminds me of, but something, I think. Well, then, it's all very well done, bravo on the technical side, but me, personally, it kind of made me want to reach for the volume knob. But I didn't, because I'm old and have learned to show restraint. Carry on.

That guitar lick going through it reminds me of something from the 60s but I can't think of what it is.
Great tune, but a bit too much delay on the vocals for my taste. Some of the words I can't understand.

Has it been a month already?
Guess so.
Not bad at all...still has a different vibe, but it does kind of sound a smidge like a few others you've done. I'm thinking it's the vocal effect that's been used before.
That said, I liked it. The little breaks gives a bit of humor to the song (it's almost a game show theme) and I enjoy your lyrics as English probably isn't your first language and results in some interesting twists.
And you really are a one man band.

Oh, and if you were on SC I'd be a fan.

Sounds pretty good to be done on the stand alone recorder, I could never get anything to sound decent with my HD8......
Funky beat/vibe, reminds me of the 70's stuff, very retro sounding.....Cool sounds all over this one, good job with the MRS.....

On the nit side, I'd personally automate a few things here/there to make 'em stand out a little more (like bringing the bass guitar up a db or two in certain places?)....Maybe change the drum hits here/there (velocity wise) to give it a little more "real" feeling.......

Again, sounds pretty good for being done all in the MRS, keep at it!!!!!!!

This sounds real good. A bit high endy through these headphones (is it me)?
It really reminds me of the Grateful Dead for some reason.

I like it... Cool.

This f***er rocks!

I am hearing Led Zeppelin all over the place, especially the vocals and rhythm of the whole thing.

Lee put his finger on it regarding too much high end.

I've got to admit I didn't finish reading the lengthy intro to the song. The one thing I didn't like about Zep was all the knights and "foreign lands" stuff. But, their music rocked as does this.

Great song.

I think your song explanations are to be treasured. Surreal yet coherent.

Loved the song. An odd ambience and sometimes bizarre lyrics. Liked the little guitar motifs halfway through and towards the end) which almost sound like something from the Muppets :)

Another splendidly enigmatic tune.

Cheers

Dick

Thanks Surfer for the kind comments, I always put reverb on my voice cause I think it makes it more acceptable, like someone decides to grow a beard if he doesn't like his naked face! I have a moustache and a goatie!!!
The upbeat had to be cause I started this song folowwing the drum beat I picked to start this song.

Hi Bob! Thanks for the comments that gives me more confidence. The abrupt halt were modified by cutting the song 10 minutes before I uploaded it on SoundCloud. The song was 5:30 so I cut the intro and the musical parts that were between the 2 verses, I then lost lots or reverse bass/guitar stuff but this song works better this way. I like the wink of calling me Lou.

If Topo tells me I sound like Bowie, I believe him as much as I believe he sounds like Anderson. I think Anderson sounds like Topo! It is very nice of you saying I brought a fresh sound to this wonderfull forum Topo! I xxx you for that! As far as I remember I did the same thing in this song as always, master using Rockshow mastering preset in my zoom machine. The lyrics are always open to interpretation for sure, like ex: 'I was aware I could ask you to get me, wann't prepare for you to just take me!' This could be talking about a rape, and the rapture is gonna be a rape too if you pic the wrong one.

It is so true that we drive slower gwood, at least I do because it gives me more time to enjoy life listening to music as I go to work. You are talking about the 1;03 and 3:03 duck guitar I bet, it remembered me sonething too so I tried to find out what it was and never found it, I tried to put keyboard behind it that would add a few notes to it so it would not be so obvious I took something from someone else without knowing what it was or who did that.

I think Voclizr, maybe some of the words I don't want you to understand or less you read them, occulting my message I bet I do! I think you also talk of the guitar lick at 1:03 and 3:03, in that part I was trying to be Gentle Giantish, but I always hate the way I could not do something different with my bass guitar then following the duck guitar. The reverb on my voice is my Zorro mask lol

A month is not a month anymore Steve! Time goes faster remember? Put up with it party pooper lol
If Stevegod thinks it's not bad at all it must be not bad at all, I'm glad you liked it man of good taste lol I don't see where my language handicap helps me here, I thought you always hated my Frenchglish! Thank you for supporting my pick of name, I thought it could be pretentious but still decided it fitted me as i did the songs long before I knew any of the forum users and haven't been corrupted yet by unwriten rules lol. You would be my first fan ever since 2009, I am flatter you wanna be my fan Sungodv!

I hear you minerman, I have a real hard time finding the right sound on my new HD8 too, I always look back to my mrs thinking I should still use my half dead machine instead of my alive HD8! I don't know how to automate things to tell you the truth, I nevr foudnd that option in my Zoom and I don't know how to use the computer software to do that. I'm trying to keep at it but, it is so diffucult now!

Thanks Lee, I think the high end issue is because of the reverse guitar that comes after the 1st verse. I am gonna look for the Grateful dead as I don't know what they did but for sure have heard their stuff without knowing it was them, at one point I didn't know Revolution was from the beatles, I thought it was from the Quebec rocker Pagliaro!

Thanks The Cracks, I never thought of Led Zep in this but of course they are an influence to me old man band! My heroes are mystics too for now but not for long!

I am so happy you can understand my Frenchglish dickl, I always put up my songs when I feel the urge to talk to someone, and there is no good way to say what I want to say, so therefore I say it as I feel it after a few beer the find the inhibition to write it, it's the same with my music, I have to hide it to some people and share it with others. There is no enigma for me, all is true (conspiracy theories) , what the main news say is true, I believe is false no matter what, enough of their brainwashing, think by yourself!

Thanks a million lots dickl for this review. You make me wanna write more, which I always restrain myself doing in lyrics or otherwise. You know sometimes you just need to read that someone like or understand something to encourage someone to do even better to re-impres them. All the others that don't see it, well it doesn't harm them to much I hope!

Sleeve cover notes once again weird, and barely unintelligible to me. I’m not sure if it’s apocalyptic visions or a few too many glasses of Chateau Le Boozy that are behind all this.

I think I got the gist of things when you hit the reverse guitar explanation.

Highly unusual song. Odd in an unusually odd way. But it all works. More an abstract than a still life though.

Bravo

Pete

Quite brilliant. I was taken back to Steve Hillage's bedroom. What a great place.
