I played my electric guitar for the first time in months. The backing track are all VSTIs w/my YRG though, and the drums are EZ.
How's this sound? Hope it's good because I was surprised to see beta170 crash. I had done my final tweaking on the jam and successfully rendered an MP3. It crashed upon trying to close Mixcraft. There's no tweaking the mix now! Upon opening the project after the crash the backup is alot missing. All that is in there now is the electric piano.

I'm listening right now..........you are a major Steely Dan fan, aren't you? ...............this is smooth, as usual..........nice separation ...........the panning was done with care and not just for the sake of panning, which I sometimes do ..............those cymbals sound really good. This is excellent, Marc.

So, do you do anything with all these recordings, or do you just do it for fun?

Sounds good to me. Good to hear you playing a real guitar again, it sounds so...real. Longer fade would've been good.

I've only seen them once about 10 yrs ago, though. They had a pretty full line up which included the two founding members, guest guitarist, bass player, drummer, two or three horns, and two or three female back up singers. I was quite pleased w/the performance except they didn't play my favorite song....Aja! I do have a Steely song book and always say I'm gonna cover a couple...maybe one day. Well, I am pretty lame as far as trying to actually make any money off my music. I could really use someone to help me w/that. They are fun to record though. I'll always love jammin'....I hope! Thanx for stopping' in, Howard. And thanx for the Steely Dan reference. Now that you say it, this is a bit Steely Dan-ish. Just EZ Drummer in a single stereo out lane...w/one of the effects chain presets in Craft, nice new feature in Mixcraft 6 are the effects chains that are now available. No way I can get that sound w/the YRG. It is quite useful for the piano and and bass though.I probably will add a synth pad to this too..maybe. Well...I knew that was coming. How long is a typical fade supposed to be...10 secs?

You could pull do a John Cage kind of fade and make it last around 600 years

Very good smooth Jazz with exceptional guitar. This time I could believe every instruments were real even if you told us only the guitar was.
I think 3:10 would be a good point to start the fade out, but it was still ok, just a little too abrupt for a smooth song.

I never timed one, I just go by what feels right. Long enough that it doesn't just drop off!

Just looked at the session for my recent song, "Whiskey Man," the main fade on the guitar is about 11 seconds. I guess it depends on how a particular song ends, how the different instruments interact. I usually have the fades on the tracks set differently. Yes, I know I'm a little obsessive about fades.

Diggin' it; except I wasn't feeling the chunka-chunk rythem at times, namely when the two guitars overlap. Not the playing or the tone or anything, just dint feel right. Just me though.

Rather than fade longer, maybe fade quicker; like while yer still playing. Sounds like the music stops before the fade does.

Awesome jazz chops. I'm very jealous of clean tone players.

You've got that YRG thing down to a science. Not that your songs prior weren't good keyboard-wise.
I kind of expected the song to turn a corner around the 1:23 mark, but it did about 20 seconds later. I think the first 1:30 is better than the last, but only a little bit. This is one of yer better comps.
Why not sell Pro 11.5? You should still get a good penny for it and just move over to MC6. Seriously.
Either way, you can use most of the VST, VSTi's from MC6 in other DAW's even if you don't get a free version.

Very interesting...little too long for my taste though..and was never a big fan of organ church music anyways. Jazz organ, well put me down! Sold!...just what we egomaniacs wanna hear! Thanx for the kind words, sir! Ya had me thinkin about em quite a while ago. No biggie, just pick a clean patch and run w/it. I will say that the clean tones on the MRS-8 were not my favorite though. This one is from Amplitude Fender Studio...Twin Reverb amp w/the reverb and vibrato turned up just a skoonch from default. To me it sounds almost like the real thing...almost. Ever plug into one of those $1200 beauties? Thing is DRIPPING w/delicious tone. Thanx...love The Dan! You might have something there..that litle break was put together pretty quick compared to the main vamp.I think just about every other of your posts on me has those words in it! Guess I'll always OP...but I'll never sell 11.5...love it. I'm just committing to Mixcraft6 for the duration of beta testing. Already been told I'm golden for activation, but I doubt they'll be handing out Pro vers. To me, each of my DAWs does something strong in their own right. The YRG is RUINING my keyboarding! I've really gotta start playing that thing again. It's just so easy to get it right the first time w/the YRG. Will admit it's a bit repetitive...I had another part for it, but couldn't quite work it in.Well, thanx...appreciate the compliment...I did get a good buzz off this one.

2012 has been good to you so far, at least musically. I think that trip to CR did you some real creative good. I could use some of that too.

Nice. And nice guitar tone.

Only crits from me would be that one of the bass guitars (at least it seems like there are two bass guitars) sounds a bit boomy (in headphones) and the syncopation gets a bit tangled in places.

Glad you finally decided to pick up your guitar again Marc, I was beginng to wonder...... Does sound a lot like Steely Dan there Cookie, really smooth......Nice mix, the guitars may be a tad too hot for me, but they're the lead instrument too, so......One other nit is the master volume is a little low, maybe boost it up a little on the master track? Just suggestions man, sounds pretty good......

Oh yeah, I have to say this: You still haven't used the multi-out thing with your drums...

As always, everything sounds really smooth man, you're the king of mellow vibes around here!!!!
