Just wanted to share this with you guys because i'm happy like a little child.
As a few of you might know I'm a big fan of the "moderne" guitar.
It's a weird shaped guitar like the flying V or the explorer and was designed in 1958 but has never been taken into production.
People like it or find it extremely ugly.
Well it has become sort of my trademark and i collected all sorts of replica's.
I was so trilled when i found out Gibson decided to do a new reissue in 2012.
And yesterday i went to the local shop who recieved 2 black ones and of course bought one.
A dream come true.

Super cool, that really looks like a good player. I'm jealous! ;)

The turtle pickguard really sets off the design & gold hardware. And I've always thought that neat shaped guitars(BCRich, Flying V, eXplorer, etc) look better with 3 on a side headstocks. I'd own a T-Bird if it was like that Moderne.

Awesome, man, I can't wait to hear it! Congrats, proud papa! :D

Great tune Aeolian Dream.

Looks like the YRG is great fun but i'm all out of cash now and will be for a while with the purchase of the moderne.
However i like the things you do with it, guess you being a keyboard player as well it's a great marriage between both worlds.

Exactly, but when you do finally get your hands on one, you will be AMAZED!! Listen to my track again and take note of how fast and perf I can fire off tap leads. Sooo much easier than my ES...but the Moderne has my attention. The more I browse it, the more I want for SHREDDING!!!!! :egit:

The Gibson Moderne is the closest guitar equivalent of the Bigfoot, in the sense that there is little evidence to prove its existence and there is yet to be solid proof of a real one anywhere on Earth.
http://guitarz.blogspot.com/2012/01/gib ... assic.html

Little pricey though...how much is this in US$?

Pretty different axe there. Kind of looks Billy Gibbons-ish. How many gits do you have?

But they all look the same.

About the only thing in common on my guitars are that they use six strings. I'm primarily a bassist and all of them are different styles as well.

Sounds like you should get a 12-string.
