You're right, James. This is a very special group.

In the years I've been here, I've learned a lot
about music, but even more about human nature.
And I like to believe that I've learned something from
virtually everyone here.

Most notably, I've learned to be grateful for criticism,
something that I fought in the past. I had always
taken criticism as a bad thing and it took some time
(and prodding by certain members) to realize that,
had they not cared, they wouldn't have bothered to
point out that which was sub-par in my work.

And, with the ebb and flow of membership, the make up
of the group changes but it always seems to be a good
assemblage of folk trying to help each other out. (And usually
one wisenheimer getting on everyone's nerves. )

I am very proud to be part of this place. I've seen how other forums are, & this is by far THE best I've found.

I have only 2 regrets about the 2090:

1) I didn't find/join sooner

2) I never got the chance to chat/jam with Riff :(

Everyone here should (if they're not already) be very proud of what we have here. I'm still a newbie, & compared to some of you, will always be. But I really enjoy being here, but have great respect for each & every person here. Thank you for letting me be part of this special place.

OK, now I'm turning the tearjerker station off too!!! :)

Thanks for posting Benny's note, Sam.
This whole damn thing just seems like a terrible recurring nightmare.

I hadn't seen the letter from Riff's brother.

Good you resurrected this thread Steve.

God bless his memory.

Pete

Nice job pulling this up out of the archives, Steve. It's
hard to believe that a year has passed. Life is so damned
short.
