Ok, I've seen many helpful explanations on this forum regarding the transfer of drum/bass information to P.C . so that they become WAV files for export to software such as Audacity and I like the solution involving bouncing the rhythm data (stored as .SEQ files on the ps-04) onto a pair of v-takes so that they become .AUD files along with audio tracks 1-4, which the card manager can then convert to WAV but I've hit a wall which is that I can't seem to find a way of actually selecting the drum/bass tracks as sources for bounce before or during the bounce!!! operation (ie pressing the bounce button)
Could someone please give me a step by step guide as to how to do this, because in my manual p.42-43 says in the hint:that you can add the drum/bass inro the bounced mix, but doesn't explain exactly how.HELP!!

Andy,

When bouncing, anything you hear will end up on the recorded tracks. To record rhythm and bass, all you need to do is to make sure you set their levels appropriately and it will work. (Use RHTYHM button, first fader from left for drum level, second fader for bass.) Assuming you want them separated from everything else, you need to set all other track levels to 0 the usual way.

Thank you Storpotaten, that makes sense!I was assuming there was a way of selecting source tracks (I used to own a ps-02) before assigning the destination track/take(s).....strange how some people have difficulty with seemingly the most simple things!Tyhanks again for that, I should soon be in a position to put some music up, any ideas on the best way to get a finished mix into a quality format to upload to websites etc?
Also, when I port card manager files to Audacity what's the best way to get other sound effects/instruments added to the song? Are there any freeware plug-ins you would recommend for this?I'm interested in things like bird song, rushing oceans and natural sound libraries, as well as vocal backing choir(female) violin and piano/synth.....so many questions, so little time!!!!! :D

To post your track, I would suggest Soundclick. It's a no-frills solution, but it's free.

For effects such as reverb, chorus, etc., try browsing the Off Topics forum, there have been several collection of links there not long ago. You could also search for "vst".

For sound effects (bird song, etc.), I have no clue. Perhaps Google is the easiest way. Or just post the question in Off Topics. Some of this could probably be solved with a VST instrument. I have no experience of that, so I can't help you. Plus, I don't think it works in Audacity, but again, no experience.
