Yeah I know. The answer probably is here somewhere, but there's a twist!

Due to a semi-crash of my computer I have had to open another user account. That means that my old presets in Cool Edit is gone.

What I have done is recording some tracks - transfered the to the computer using Cardmanager using the on-the fly conversion to 44,1 khz. Then I mixed the files in Cool Edit and saved a wav-file - like I used to. I even remembered to change the sample rate to 31250 before saving. Then I used Cardmanager to transfer the file back onto the memory card, and set out to make some more tracks. Bummer. The play back on the PS-04 was slow and bassy. The I tried other sample rates (44,1 and 15-something, you know the low grade rate). All sounded very much alike - slow and bassy.

What am I missing?
