I bought a PS-04 to use the built-in mic on all 4 tracks... is this possible, somehow?

According to the manual (page 19) from Audio Mode screen, press track parameter [should show INPUT], press status key 1 [MIC], adjust fader 1 to set recording level... THEN (page 22) from Audio Mode screen, press the status key for the track you want to record onto...
