I'm trying to get reverb when I'm recording on my R8, so I push effect>Insert effect>on> can get, stereo, mastering,& those patches ok, but when I push the Reverb button I cant seem to get any reverbs. I know K Selby has kindly done an extensive tutorial, but guess I'm after a more simplified answer. [For a simple man] Cheers

Well the simple answer is that the reverb you are trying to use, is not an insert effect, it's a global effect which means you can't "insert" it between the input and the track for recording.
It is apllied to the overall stereo master signal.
If you want to record with reverb you should use the reverb within the patch of the insert effect.
The reverb inside of the insert effect patch is not the same as the global reverb.
So basically the R8 has 2 reverbs:
- a global reverb
- an insert effect reverb
To activate/edit the insert effect reverb you need to edit the insert effect patch you're using.
Press effect > scroll down to [EDIT] > press [ENTER] > press right cursor button untill you see [REVERB]
If it's [OFF] press [ENTER] to activate it > Edit it the way you like it
As I said this reverb is part of the patch you choose so if you change the patch, the reverb changes also and you may need to set the reverb for that patch.
Oh and don't forget to actually save the patch otherwise the next time you use this patch the reverb is gone.
Go back to the [INSERT EFFECT] screen and scroll 1 item below [EDIT] you will get the option [SAVE].

Thanks Henky, I'll always admire and trust someone who collects and plays Ibanez Futura's!
