I found the delays under the CHORUS effect. So I dialed up my delay and played and recorded a solo. The delay, however, is not recorded/ imprinted on the guitar solo track. It is only heard when the CHORUS effect is set to a delay patch. Does that mean that I have to choose between chorus or delay for all the tracks I record? I thought the delay would have been recorded/ imprinted on the guitar track. Following this thought, I thought the chorus effect would be imprinted/ recorded on the guitar rhythm track. When I play back the tracks with chorus or delay effect off, none of them has chorus or delay on them. Am I right on this? Are you not able to record the CHORUS/DELAY or REVERB input signal with the effect? This would be a major problem for me. Thanks again.

Also...this is the difference between Send/Return effects (Reverb and Chorus/Delay) vs. Insert effects.

Insert effects CAN be recorded "wet" (e.g., the effect is "imprinted" on the guitar solo track).

Send/Return effects cannot be recorded "wet" UNLESS you bounce the guitar solo track to a NEW track and you have the R8 configured to bounce "wet".

You might also check out this post for the difference between these two types of effects:
