Hello. I have had my Zoom H2 for 2 years and use it sporadically. Today I went to set it up for recording a band practice and it boots up fine and all, but none of the front panel buttons are working and the front "Mic Active" light is lit up. Has anyone run into this and know what it may be? Thanks.

OK, So I have narrowed the problem down to the front panel ribbon cable. I have a friend who also owns a Zoom H2 and on a hunch I took both of them apart and switched His front panel with mine and the front buttons worked. Not sure who (if any of you) have taken an H2 apart, but there is a ribbon cable that comes from the front panel that connects to the PC board which the buttons are recognized. The ribbon cable cannot (as far as I can see) be removed from the front panel to be replaced. Now my next question, Is it possible to order a complete front panel from Samson? Has anyone here tried that?

Yes, you should be able to order any individual parts from Samson. Write an email to their support group and tell them what you need. They will tell you the price. My H2 took a drink in the Pacific Ocean.. they offer to fix it at something like $50/hr plus parts, or they could send the parts. Only problem is, I opened it up and saw two circuit boards and don't if one or both fried, so I need to find another H2 to test with, or just send it in. I since bought an H2n...
