hi,
I've had the Zoom4H for some time now but i always recorded with the mic.
Now i'm trying to use the 4 track and I have a simple question- can't I record from input 1 and 2 and the mic at the same time??
thanks a lot!

Hi, in MTR mode no you can't but in 4 Ch you can as a single take, in the actual 4 track or as they call it MTR mode it's either Mic OR inputs 1 and 2 which you can run at the same time, I use my H4n mic for everything, marvellous little beast that it is......Cale

what is the MTR mode? I changed the recording setting to 4 track if that's what you mean...?

Hi yeah there's 3 modes, 2channel or stereo, the 4channel mode and the Multi track mode, in stereo you can record at anything up to 24 bit 96 hz so you can get great quality, 4 channel means you can record 4 tracks all at once, good for live application say for a band and MTR mode is where you can do each track individually, I use this all the time, I lay down guitar then vocals then lead and melody lines, then simply send that to my Roland desk which is an 8 channel, this MTR is great for Mic use as you have all the effects which you can't use in the other modes, you can only use the basic comp/limit and filters or pre amp modules, no actual effects only in MTR mode it's the best overall for diversity.

I think that asaf has H4 not the H4n.
Recording simultaneously 4 tracks is not possible in H4. You can record 2 tracks and then next two tracks while playing the first ones in 4 track/MTR mode.
The 4 track/MTR mode standartly offers 4 mono tracks for recording. To change it to 2 stereo tracks, you need to go to Menu > Stereo Link and activate the stereo in corresponding pairs 1&2 or 3&4.
Also note that 4 track/MTR mode is fixed in quality 16bit/44.1kHz - CD quality - which is not so much.
